CS2 trade-up calculator: plan inputs, odds and floats

Build a CS2 trade-up contract from the skins you are browsing or already own. CSFolio’s trade-up calculator shows possible outcomes, their estimated probabilities, output floats when all input floats are known, and Rprice reference values for comparing inputs and results.
The calculator is a planning tool. Adding an item does not buy it, transfer it or consume anything in your Steam inventory. Actual contracts are completed in Counter-Strike 2.
How to build a contract
Start by opening an empty slot in the calculator, or choose its Item Browser button. This opens the existing browser in trade-up mode. You can also start from an eligible skin’s item menu in your inventory or the market by choosing Trade-up contract.
Your first input sets the contract’s rarity and StatTrak type. While you fill the contract, the browser limits the selection to compatible items. Use its usual search and equipment filters to find the next skin; the Inventory only checkbox narrows the selection to your loaded inventory when signed in.
Choose Trade-up contract from an item’s menu to add it. While trade-up mode is active in the browser, right-clicking an eligible item—or tapping and holding on mobile—adds it too. An animation points toward the calculator tab, and the dots beneath that tab show how many slots are filled.
The browser returns to the calculator when you add the final input. You can remove individual inputs, or use Clear contract to start again. Selecting the main Item Browser tab returns to normal browsing without throwing away your selected inputs; choose an empty contract slot to resume.
Ten inputs, or five Covert inputs?
Ordinary contracts use ten eligible skins of the same rarity. The calculator also supports eligible five-Covert contracts and switches the slot count accordingly. Knives and gloves are possible results of the Covert route, not inputs you can add to a contract.
Valve’s October 22, 2025 update introduced the five-Covert route: regular Covert inputs can produce an eligible regular knife or gloves, while StatTrak Covert inputs can produce an eligible StatTrak knife. The available pool depends on the inputs. See Valve’s official update notes.
Keep StatTrak inputs separate from regular inputs. Eligibility also depends on whether a skin has a valid output pool, so an item’s rarity alone does not guarantee that it can be used. CSFolio omits the Trade-up contract action for ineligible items.
How to read the outcome odds
Once every slot is filled, the results list shows the possible output skins and a percentage for each. Changing the collection mix can change both the available results and their probabilities. Do not assume that every displayed result has an equal chance.
For a simple illustration of the calculator’s ordinary-contract model, suppose nine inputs belong to a collection with one eligible next-tier skin, and one input belongs to a collection with two eligible next-tier skins. The first collection’s result has a 90% share; the other two results have 5% each. This is an illustrative pool, not a suggested contract or a profitability claim.
Some finishes have multiple phases. Where the calculator says Phases combined, its percentage covers the grouped finish; it does not give individual Doppler phase probabilities or guarantee a particular phase.
Enter floats to estimate output wear
Known floats carried in from individual items are retained. For generic catalog inputs, enter the float of the specific skin you intend to use. Each float field shows that skin’s allowed range, and the calculator rejects values outside it.
The calculator normalizes each input float within that skin’s own minimum and maximum, averages those normalized positions, and maps the result into each output skin’s allowed range. A raw average of input floats is therefore not sufficient when their float caps differ.
For example, an input at 0.10 in a 0.00–0.50 range has a normalized position of 0.20. If the complete contract’s average normalized position is 0.20, an output capped at 0.06–0.80 is estimated at 0.208: 0.06 + 0.20 × (0.80 − 0.06). This example explains the calculator’s model, rather than predicting a particular contract.
You can leave floats blank while exploring. A complete compatible contract still shows its outcomes and odds, but output floats remain undetermined if any input float is missing. Estimated floats near wear boundaries should be checked carefully against the in-game result.
Compare Rprices without mistaking them for profit
Each selected input shows its available Rprice reference value, and Total Rprice adds the input references together when all are available. Results also show Rprices. When wear is undetermined, the display may show a range across available eligible wear variants. Missing price data is marked unavailable rather than treated as zero.
Rprice is a reference value, not necessarily your purchase cost or an executable sale price. An item you already own still has value, and a favorable-looking output does not mean the whole contract is profitable. Check actual acquisition costs, realistic selling prices, fees, and every possible outcome before making a decision.
Expected value and chance of profit are different: an expensive, unlikely result can raise an average while many possible results are worth less than the inputs. The current calculator does not automatically find the most profitable contracts or send profitability alerts.
Useful checks before completing a trade-up
Confirm the exact items and floats in CS2 before submitting a real contract. Applied stickers and charms are not included as extra value in these reference estimates and do not carry into the new output. A calculator selection is not a reservation of a marketplace listing.
